Mental health open surgery 27/08/2008- 27/08/2008
  Mental health open surgery
Hammersmith, London
From: 27/08/2008 - 27/08/2008

Mental-health charity MIND is hosting an open surgery for business leaders who want to find out more about mental health. Explaining the impetus behind the event, the charity's deputy chief executive, Alex Tambourides, said: “Work-related stress has risen dramatically over the last few years and, with workers under more pressure than ever to perform in the current climate, it’s likely that this trend will continue in the months ahead. Here at Mind, we firmly believe that the best way to deal with mental health problems is to prevent them from getting serious in the first place, and that’s why we want to help businesses to create an environment in which staff can produce their best work and avoid the kind of stress-related illnesses that might lead to them going on extended sick leave. “Our open surgery should provide a great opportunity for business executives and HR officers to discuss any issues they face at work, and to learn about improvements they could make to their policies and procedures, and their office environment. We really hope that businesses will be able to attend.” The mental health open surgery will take place from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday, 27 August at Hammersmith & Fulham Mind, 153 Hammersmith Road, London W14 0QL. To find out more about it, or about Mind’s business services, contact Luke Terry on 020 8741 0661
